Eagle 2100™ Meter Mechanism
The NEW Eagle 2100™ mechanism from Duncan is based on street-proven Eagle 2000 technologies but with significant new features. It features improved coin recognition including optical detection of non-metallic coins.  Critical contact points are now gold plated for increased operational reliability.  New card features provide robust card acceptance and increased long-term reliability.

As the next member of the Duncan Eagle series meters, the Eagle 2100 continues to offer the patented operating system and a patented peripheral port that enable the mechanism to run powerful new management applications, as well as future add-on devices. The Eagle 2100™ mechanism automatically serves data with every infrared Duncan Data Terminal (DDT) interface (e.g., Collections, Maintenance, and Enforcement). Data such as audit, maintenance status, battery condition, self-diagnostics events, and location are also readily obtainable. With its 32K memory, the Eagle 2100™ mechanism is the ultimate in parking meter mechanism power and adaptability. 

Coming soon in 2005 is a configuration of the Eagle 2100 capable of accepting the Duncan CashKey AND SmartCards in a single configuration!!!

Operates under a wide range of extreme environmental conditions.
Wide operating temperature range of –40ºF (-40ºC) to 185ºF (85ºC).
No moving parts to wear out.
Replaceable faceplate for coins and card, coins only, CashKey™ only and card only, and Free Time.  Coming soon..... Faceplate configuration for CashKey™ AND cards in the same meter!.

COIN ACCEPTANCE AND DISCRIMINATION:

Patented coin recognition.
Three coil design for superior accuracy.
Accepts up to sixteen different coins and or metal tokens.
Improved rejection of slugs, washers, paper clips and other foreign matter.
Coin chute is easily and quickly field serviceable without the use of special tools.

SMART CARD DEBIT SYSTEM:

Can be programmed to use one or more of the ISO-7816 compliant debit payment cards:
Microprocessor debit cards using cryptographic encryption algorithm deter against fraudulent manipulation of data.
Memory cards may be reloaded and reused as a token based stored value cards.
Disposable memory cards may be used as low cost token based stored cards.
High durability card reader rated at 200,000 insertions.
Integrated metal frame for added robustness.
The industry’s only ergonomically correct card slot for easy use.

PATENTED CASHKEYRECEPTACLE:

Micro processor debit system uses encrypted algorithms for security against fraudulent manipulation of data.
Value may be reloaded onto CashKey™.

INTERNAL TIME KEEPING:

Built in 365-day calendar and Real-Time-Clock (RTC).
Programmable to adjust for daylight savings time.
RTC is accurate to within a few seconds per week.
Can display time, date, week, month and year.
Short– term power back up during battery replacement.
The time of day clock is used to perform a complete system check once each day.

INFRARED DATA COMMUNICATION:

Utilizes patented infrared technology.
Most audits can be completed in less than 3 seconds; reprogramming in less than 10 seconds.
Communicates with authorized handheld terminals only.
Communicates reliably over the entire operating temperature range.
The infrared facilitates the following functions performed by handheld computers and external software:
Retrieval of audit data including the meter’s serial number.
Retrieval of meter error conditions.
Reprogramming of the Time and Rate structure.

PERIPHERAL PORT:

Communicates with vehicle detection, data terminals and wireless communication devices.

POWER:

Power saving mode allows for 12-month continuous trouble free operations.
Powered by two standard 9V batteries.
Retains full audit data during battery removal and exchange.

FRONT DISPLAY (CURB SIDE):

Large, high contrast, wide temperature, B/W Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with optional LED backlight.
LCD backlight is programmable for time of day and duration for improved power savings.
LCD configuration utilizes four ½" digits separated by a colon.
Displays "Out Of Order" when the meter is non-functional.
Capable of displaying two international "No Parking" symbols during no parking periods.
Displays low battery conditions.
Display flashes when time has expired.
Capable of displaying a "-" symbol in the left most digit when time has expired.

REAR DISPLAY (STREET SIDE):

Large, high contrast, wide temperature, RED/SILVER Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).
Can be programmed to flash the word "EXPIRED".
Can either flash RED or SILVER "EXPIRED".
Can steadily display either a RED or SILVER background.
Displays "Out Of Order" when the meter is dysfunctional.
Capable of displaying two international "No Parking’ symbols during no parking periods.

LED DISPLAY:

Programmable for maximum flexibility in enforcement options.
High brightness (super-bright) RED LED visible at a distance up to 85 feet.

** GREEN, YELLOW and RED LEDs are factory programmable and can indicate valid parking, grace period, expired time or service required.
